Forest fans will have one eye on Brisbane Road tomorrow and the other on the goings on at Brunton Park, as Carlisle entertain 2nd place Doncaster Rovers. If things go Forest’s way, we could be back in an automatic promotion spot come 5pm.

But Calderwood wants to concentrate more on what the Reds are doing, rather than others and believes that our chances of automatic promotion lie in our own hands.

He told the official site. ‘We’ve got to do our job. You don’t have to be a genius to realise that winning away from home has been a problem for us and we would love to beat Orient – that would really set us up nicely for what’s to come. But I don’t get too hung up on what might or might not happen to Doncaster at Carlisle. On paper they have a very tough game, but Carlisle are due to lose at home – you can’t predict what might happen.’

He is right in what he says. It is in our hands, but fans are genuinely concerned that the failings of last season are repeating themselves and lessons haven’t been learned. A win at Orient tomorrow will go someway to allay those fears and restore some much needed faith in the team ahead of a busy schedule of important games in March.
