Nottingham Forest have been busy during the summer in trying to bolster the front line, with the signings of Earnshaw, Cole and Garner. But with two out of those three injured, he’s on the lookout for a replacement.

Nathan Tyson can also be added to the list of injuries at the club, which means Calderwood only has one fit striker to pick from. He told the Nottingham Evening Post. ‘We are trying to bring a striker in on loan to give us added firepower in the short term, there is no secret in that, we will continue to work on that today. Whether the club concerned will allow their player to play in the Carling Cup is a different matter. That is a situation we will have to look at. But it would be unwise to continue as we are, with no prospect of the other boys returning before the international break. By the time they have a week’s training and maybe a reserve game we will be looking at the end of the month.’

Rumours are rife as to who it will be, but some sources are quoting a return home to the City Ground for former player Marlon Harewood, who is currently at Villa Park.
