Colin Calderwood was impressed with the manner in which his side won against Crewe on Saturday, but keeps both feet firmly on the ground after the best performance of the season so far.

In a game that saw Forest hit the woodwork five times, Calderwood was understandably upbeat in his post match talks. He told the official site ‘Anyone who saw the way we played would say we’ve got a chance of getting promotion. It was a promotion-like performance but it doesn’t count for anything because we’re in November and nothing is decided at this stage of the season. We deserved to win but we need to keep our feet on the ground.’

It’s good to hear him say we need to remain calm, but after that sort of performance it’s hard . Supporters have been starved of something to shout about these past few years, so it makes a change to savour the feeling of such a resounding win. We have all been critical of CC and some of his methods, but if he carries on in the way he has done lately, he’ll get few complaints from the terraces.
