Nottingham Forest earlier today announced the signing of Leeds United midfielder Liam Bridcutt.

The 28 year old comes into the club for an undisclosed fee and he has signed a three year deal with us.

Having begun his career in the youth ranks at Chelsea, he made his mark at Brighton during a three and a half year stay where he helped them to promotion from League One back in 2011.

Moving onto Sunderland and then Leeds, he featured 25 times for them last season and he is Cup tied for tonight’s game.

Speaking to the Official Forest Site after penning his deal, the player explained.

‘It feels good and I am happy to be here. I have spoken to the manager and had a good chat and he has brought me here to strengthen the squad and use my experience. The chat I had with him was positive and I am very happy to be here. It is something that has been ticking on for the last week or so. It happened quite quickly and I am happy that it got done as quickly as possible. I needed to be back playing regular football and hopefully I can do that.’

He added.

‘Everyone I have spoken to who has worked with the manager hasn’t said a bad word about him and you can see from the results at previous clubs that he has a good track record. I think as a manager he is an honest guy and the way he wants to play suits me massively.’

Manager Mark Warburton was obviously delighted with his capture.

‘I am delighted to have captured the services of an experienced Championship performer. He has had a technical education through Chelsea and numerous other clubs now, and he is a proven performer at this level. He understands our style of play and we are delighted to welcome him on board.’
