Full name: William McIntosh Davies.

Date of birth: 31 May 1964, he’s 44 years old.

Place of birth: Glasgow, Scotland.

Billy Davies began his managerial career at Motherwell in 1998. He took the club to the brink of European football in 2001, before being sacked the following season after a poor start.

In 2004 he took charge of Championship side Preston North End, after serving under Craig Brown as his Assistant. He had two successful years there, taking them to the Playoffs twice. He lost out to West Ham in the Playoff Final in his first season as manager.

In June 2006, he walked out of Deepdale to take up the role of Derby County manager. In his first season in charge, he took them from the brink of a relegation dogfight and straigt up into the Premier League, via a Playoff Final victory over Southampton. His time in the Premiership saw Derby take only six points from fourteen games. He left Derby by mutual consent in November 2007 and was succeeded by Paul Jewell.

January 2009, sees him unveiled as the new manager of Nottingham Forest, where he began his most successfiul period in football management.
