Lewis Grabban was praised by some fans on both sides in Nottingham Forest’s 5-5 draw at Aston Villa. The 30-year-old scored two goals against his former side in Wednesday’s meeting to take his Championship tally to 12 goals in 15 Championship starts.

Grabban has been in fantastic form since his permanent summer switch from Bournemouth, having previously been loaned out to three different clubs (Reading, Sunderland, Aston Villa) in the last 18 months. He’s found his feet at Forest and has repaid the faith shown by Aitor Karanka this season.

On Wednesday, Grabban opened the scoring in the third minute and grabbed the late equaliser when Forest were 5-4 behind. He’s scored and created 10 goals in his last nine appearances in all competitions, and supporters lauded his latest contribution on social media.

Forest’s draw in midweek was their tenth of the season and saw them move into the Championship playoffs ahead of Derby County. The Reds currently sit sixth in the table with 31 points from 19 games, having picked up three wins and three draws from their last half a dozen outings. Grabban is on course to hit 20 league goals.
