Sheffield Wednesday have officially announced that Forest defender Julian Bennett has signed for the League 1 club on a two year deal.

‘Jules’ was a firm favourite amongst Forest supporters and will leave with the best wishes of virtually everyone of us. He did remarkably well last year, to recover from a serious knee ligament injury, that could have ended his career. Such is the determination of the guy and the respect with which he was held at NFFC, the club offered him a years contract, if he couldn’t find another club this summer.

The move to Wednesday, will see Bennett team up with former Reds’ boss Gary Megson, who was also the man who signed him for Forest back in 2006 from Walsall. Bennett was an integral part of the 2007/8 promotion winning side and won the Vital Forest Player of the Season award the same year. Good luck Julian Bennett!

Vital Nottingham Forest is now available on both facebook and twitter, so if you are that way inclined and more importantly understand all this new fangled dangled stuff, feel free to watch us, poke us or whatever else you are meant to do there!
