According to Laurie Whitwell of the Daily Mail, Aston Villa are lining up a £10m bid for Joe Lolley. The Nottingham Forest winger has been in sensation form in 2018/19, winning Forest’s Player of the Season award, and finds himself linked with a move away from the City Ground as a result.

Lolley ended speculation over his future at Forest in February by signing a four-year deal, but Villa have a good chance of signing the 26-year-old this summer as they’ll boast Premier League football next season. Martin O’Neill can’t afford to lose his best player, but the chance to play in the top-flight might be too good to turn down.

In 2018/19, Lolley contributed 22 goals in 46 Championship games. He created 84 chances, made 110 successful dribbles (58%), averaging 27 passes-per-game with 73% accuracy, won 29 aerial duels (35%), made 33 clearances and averaged a tackle (58) or interception (36) every 38 minutes.

The right-winger joined Forest from Huddersfield Town in January 2018 and has gone on to make 67 appearances in all competitions. Lolley has proven himself to be one of the best wide-man in the Championship and perhaps his next test needs to be the Premier League.

Forest may request more than £10m, however, as the Englishman has four years left on his deal.
