Without question, the club has been incredibly active in the summer transfer window. In addition to the plethora of new signings that we’ve made, the outgoings are beginning to increase too. One of the latest players who is poised to leave the City Ground is Matt Bondswell.
As Nottinghamshire Live reports, his departure wasn’t particularly unexpected; he announced that he was leaving the club earlier this month. That said, it has emerged that the promising defender has rejected approaches from Liverpool and Manchester United in favour of joining RB Leipzig.
Here’s how the Forest supporters have responded to the news on Twitter.
Bad move Matt, bad move. #NFFC have a good track record of bringing players like yourself through to the first team then letting them have their move if they wish. Hope you don’t disappear forever now like others who’ve made the same mistake.

Fair point. Always disappointed when a young player leaves by their choice and Forest do have a good track record bringing players through and the ones that have left before, have not lived up to potential. Of course I wish him well, but IMO, wrong move.

He's gone before he even started, so who cares?

On what basis though? If he wants to chase the cash before he's even kicked a ball for us why would we want him back? We need players committed to the club.

How does a kid like this, end up at Leipzig over Liverpool and Man Utd! Absolute heads gone!

He could stay at Forest, get a few games in a few years, get loaned out, and nothing come of his career or take a big pay packet now whilst it’s on the table…at a club where he is less likely to play games… hard to Judge unless you’re in that position!

Verdict:
It’s always disappointing to lose the services of a promising young player, especially one who has been courted by some of the biggest names in football.
However, Bondswell’s move to Leipzig is reflective of the broader picture; it’s evident that the teenage sensation thinks that his chances of attaining regular first-team football are higher with the progressive German team.
