Joe Lolley has blown hot and cold for Nottingham Forest this season and was heavily criticised by supporters after Wednesday’s defeat to Hull City.

The 26-year-old was caught high up the pitch as Hull opened the scoring through Josh Magennis in the 38th minute, and fans have now called on Sabri Lamouchi to drop him against Reading on Saturday.

Against Hull, Lolley played for 90 minutes, made 71 touches, created three chances, had two shots with 50% accuracy, completed 82.9% of his 41 passes, whipped in 13 crosses, made three successful dribbles, drew one foul and made one tackle.

Lolley has made 14 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring and creating four goals. The Englishman has made only one assist in 2019/20 and hasn’t found the back of the net in over three weeks. It’s a real contrast from last season’s 11 goals & 11 assists in 46 league games.

With Brennan Johnson and Albert Adomah available, Lamouchi may consider a change on the wing until Lolley can find his feet. Forest have dropped points in three of their last four Championship games and desperately need a result after falling out of the playoff places.
