Colin Calderwood has stressed his Nottingham Forest side will adopt a bold approach tonight as they bid to secure a place at the new Wembley.

The Reds will go into their League One play-off semi-final second leg meeting with Yeovil at The City Ground (kick-off 7.45pm) with a 2-0 lead from the first meeting in Somerset a week ago.

But manager Calderwood insists his men will look to add to their lead rather than just try to protect their advantage from the first leg.

He said: ‘If we score goals it will make it incredibly hard for Yeovil to get back into the tie.

‘That’s the game plan we’ve got – we’ve got to be aggressive in terms of looking to score goals because that will increase the difficulty of the task that Yeovil face.’

A first half Kris Commons penalty set Forest on their way to victory at Huish Park last Friday and after Yeovil had wasted a string of second half chances, James Perch scored from the spot in the dying minutes to double the lead.

Calderwood added: ‘The second goal at Huish Park seems to have made a massive difference to what everyone thinks about the second leg.

‘But we know it will still be a tough game. Yeovil are free scoring away from home and we saw how much of a threat they posed last week.

‘And if anything has helped keep our players and coaching staff’s feet on the ground this week it’s the way Yeovil played, as well as they played in our two League One games against them.’

He continued: ‘I’m happy and relaxed to a degree but there’s always a bit of trepidation. We’re in a wonderful situation and we know that if we do our job we’ll go through.

‘We know what we need to do – if we win the game, which is our intention, we’ll be on our way to Wembley.

‘We want to make it a good night and a memorable one but we’ve got to go and do our work to achieve that.’
