Nottingham Forest’s busy transfer deadline day concluded with a deal for Chesterfield’s Gboly Ariyibi being signed off.

The winger signed a three and a half year contract with Forest after the former Leeds winger arrived for an undisclosed fee from League 1 strugglers Chesterfield. This deal will keep the American at the City Ground until 2020.

Ariyibi is an academy graduate of Southampton’s – coming through with the likes of Luke Shaw, Calum Chambers and James Ward-Prowse – with him added to the arrivals of Joao Teixeira, Aaron Tshibola, Ross McCormack and Zach Clough during the January transfer window.

Tshibola will be forced to miss the game with parent club Aston Villa at the weekend but 22 year old winger Ariyibi – the final of three arrivals on deadline day – could be among those who makes his Forest bow on Saturday.
