Nottingham Forest winger Gboly Ariyibi has headed out to Northampton Town for the remainder of the 2017/18 season.

The 22 year old returned earlier this week from his loan spell out with MK Dons and whilst with them he scored seven times in 28 appearances.

With Forest enacting the break clause they held on his season long loan, the expectation was that new manager Aitor Karanka wanted to run his eye over him in training but getting him more game time elsewhere to further bring on his development.

That will now take place at Northampton Town and Sixfield’s and the youngster will spend the second half of the campaign learning under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Ariyibi could debut against MK Dons this weekend as his new side host them on home soil.
