The praise keeps coming in from those on the outside.

But at the moment, it’s not totally being backed up by those at the club.

Speaking to Nottinghamshire Live, Sky Sports pundit and former Red David Prutton was full of praise for Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi and the way he has managed to give Nottingham Forest that little extra kick compared to last season when the team fell short of the playoffs under Martin O’Neill.

And whilst it might sound a bit cliché, he pointed out the one thing that has made his managerial abilities stand out this season has been his ability to take the players and turn them into a team:

“The essence of seeing them as a team in all senses of the word, some very good individual players though you would have to say the way they’ve been put together is one that’s greater than the sum of its parts – that’s what any good team in a team sport needs to be.”

Will Sabri Lamouchi sign a new contract?

Yes

Yes

No

And yet, despite all of that, there is still no word on him signing the new deal that he has clearly earned at this point. There were reports a few weeks ago suggesting that the club and the Frenchman were in talks over a new deal, but since then there hasn’t been any update on if we are closer to having him on board for another season as the very least.

Much like when every day goes by without there being a concrete plan for football to return, other than these few statements that we’ve been getting, every day that goes by without us hearing that Lamouchi hasn’t signed his new deal is a day that I feel more and more nervous over the future of the club.

We’ve clearly got something good going here, but there hasn’t been the faith from the board to totally back that up.
