On Tuesday morning, Nottingham Forest confirmed the loan signing of Rafa Mir and some supporters are delighted with the news. With Apostolos Vellios, Hillal Soudani and Karim Ansarifard leaving the club, Sabri Lamouchi needed another striker to compete with Lewis Grabban, Tyler Walker and Sammy Ameobi for playing time this season. Fans took to social media to share their excitement.
Delighted with this acquisition, looks like exactly the type of young talent we need. The club is operating at a completely new level since we brought in Lamouchi. Attracting hungry you on the up rather than chasing expensive journeymen on a downward spiral as we were under MON!

Forest call Mir ‘highly-rated’ and his scoring record is respectable. He contributed eight goals while on loan at UD Las Palmas last season and had an impressive return at youth level before coming to England. Mir joined Wolverhampton Wanderers from Valencia in 2018, coming off the back of six goals in seven games for the u19s and 25 goals in 59 outings for the reserves.
He’s also bagged five goals in 10 for Spain’s u21s and won the u21 European Championships this summer. Mir is the second striker from Wolves to make the switch to Forest in the last two transfer windows, with Leo Bonatini joining on loan in January, but supporters will be hoping his time at the City Ground doesn’t replicate that of the 25-year-old – five appearances, zero goals.
