This past weekend, and prior to the Nottingham Forest draw at Aston Villa, had seen reports of an imminent takeover from American investors at the City Ground.
Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi was quick to play this down.
This and that takeover was meant to be going through, as things stand Forest (publically anyway) are no closer to a new owner/investment despite the reports in the Telegraph on Saturday, which claimed a deal was close with American businessmen who were set to complete a ‘quick fire’ £40m takeover.
Al-Hasawi took to twitter to, on the face of it, rule this out….
Yesterday selling to Greece, today America & tomorrow maybe China? FACT: We’re doing well so let’s just please all support our team! #nffc

Matters on the field aren’t going too badly really are they? If the lead held at Villa Park could have been retained a place as high as second in the Championship would have been secured but Philippe Montanier will be relatively pleased with that two-all draw and the start made under him anyway.
As for matters off the field until whatever deal is done and dusted (if it is) we’ll always have rumour and speculation, some more likely than others….
