Well this certainly came out of the blue.

Literally out of the blue in this case given who he’s being linked with.

According to reports in The Sun (15/11/19, page 74), Everton are interested in bringing in defender Matty Cash, with the Premier League side supposedly willing to pay £12m for the 22-year-old.

Despite being played out of position, he has made a pretty good impression on the division, enough for him to be the division’s best right-back according to WhoScored.com’s rating system, as well as setting Championship records for his displays.

So when the news came through that he was linked with the Toffees, Nottingham Forest fans took to Twitter to express their views on the matter, and funnily enough there wasn’t a consensus among the fan base. Some felt that the £12m being offered was a more than fair price, whilst others felt that selling on someone who has been so crucial to them this season would be a huge backwards.

Should Forest cash in on Matty?

It raises an interesting conundrum, do they cash in and strengthen? Or do they hold on to him and gamble on promotion?
