The Nottingham Forest hot shot and top scorer, is fast becoming something of a local hero back in his home city Accra, as well as here in Nottingham. He’s back home in Ghana at present, preparing for the 26th African Cup Of Nations with his team mates in Accra.

He’s relatively new to the international scene and in his 8 appearances for the Black Stars so far, he’s scored 3 times. His debut for Ghana was in 2006, in a game against OGC Nice. Junior was named as part of the final squad of 22 and is expected to play a major role in the tournament.

It all gets underway for Junior on Sunday, when Ghana the host nation take on Guinea (KO 19.45 GMT). Ghana were drawn in Group A, along with Guinea, Namibia and Morocco. The final of the tournament takes place on Feb 10 at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra. The Black Stars have won the African Cup Of Nations on 4 occasions and are this time round expected to make the quarter final stages at least. Good luck to Junior and good luck to Ghana. I now have a new team to follow.
