After Years Of Mid-Table Mediocrity Forest Are Riding High And Fans Are Loving It

After years of mid-table mediocrity in the second tier, and the occasional flirt with the play-offs, Forest are riding high under the stewardship of French manager Sabri Lamouchi – and Reds fans are loving it!

Former Inter Milan and Marseille player Lamouchi arrived at the City Ground in the Summer, having previously managed in his homeland’s top flight with Rennes as well as spells in Qatari football and with the Ivory Coast national team.

The former France international midfielder has hit the ground running so far, with Forest in the higher echelons of the Championship at present – and unbeaten in two months.

The opening day defeat to West Bromwich Albion has been followed up by four draws and five wins from their next nine games as the Reds occupy a play-off place after nearly a quarter of the campaign.

Lamochi’s side boasts a balance of youth and experience as well as attacking threats and defensive solidity, and supporters are currently very pleased with how the Frenchman has his side performing. As fans have taken to Twitter, here’s what is being said:

Some Forest fans believe Lamouchi should receive the next ‘Manager of the Month’ award, while others have noted how impressive the start to the season has been under their new manager, both historically and statistically.

Reds fans were also quick to acknowledge the togetherness of Lamouchi’s squad, while admiring their manager’s work ethic and dedication to the role.
