Adlene Guedioura spoke out about his desire to stay at Nottingham Forest, revealing he has no plans to leave the club again. He’s made 13 Championship appearances this season, contributing two goals to help Aitor Karanka’s side move within one point and one place off the playoff places.

The 33-year-old initially joined the Midlands outfit on loan in January 2012 until May (19 Championship appearances), before making the deal permanent two months later. He spent just one more year at the City Ground, making 42 appearances in all competitions, before moving to Crystal Palace in September 2013.

Guedioura re-joined Forest from Middlesbrough in January 2018 and has gone on to make a total of 24 league appearances since. His contract at the City Ground has two years to run and the midfielder has no plans to leave before it’s up.

He said to Nottingham Live: “I am looking to buy a home here; I want to establish myself in Nottingham because I love this city. I have always been in love with Nottingham since I arrived here, which is why I always wanted to come back.

“In football, you never know what will happen. I did not think I would leave in the first place. But when something special happens, when you feel good somewhere, you want to come back. This is why I came back and this is why I am very happy to be here. It is one of my favourite clubs to have played for.”

The Algerian international, who has represented his country on 42 occasions, has made 85 appearances in total for Forest. He’s led a nomadic career, playing for the likes of CS Sedan, US Roye, Olympique Noisy-le-Sec, Entente SSG, US Creteil, KV Kortrijk, RSC Charleroi, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace, Watford and Middlesbrough.
