THE win over Nottingham Forest was just another game for us.

Obviously we’re made up with the result but not any more than we were when we beat Barnet.

I think the boys got a bit of a lift and gave a little more with the game being shown live on television but the celebrations were pretty much the same as the ones we had when we got our first league win.

Of course, the Forest result was massive and it was another chance for people to see how far Accrington have moved on.

And, hopefully, in a year or two we will have established ourselves or even moved up the leagues and moved forward and then that will stop people talking about 44 years ago when Accrington were put out the league.

Hopefully we can all look forward now.

The cup is good for team spirit and there’s talk of us drawing one of the big teams from the Premiership.

If we do we do and that’s be great but if we don’t then fine.

Forest was a big scalp for us but we’ll just be taking each game as they come.

I don’t think it will be difficult to bring the boys back down to earth after Monday night, they’re all a pretty level-headed bunch.

And for John and myself, we have to prepare them for this Saturday when we have an even bigger game.

We are both hoping the players will produce the same performance they did against Forest, closing players down in the same way and doing everything all over again.

The league is our top priority. We’ve had a couple of good results against Barnet and Forest but we’ve got to take that forward and keep it going for the rest of the season.

Rochdale haven’t had the best of starts but it’s important we’re able to keep our run going.
