It has been widely established that Nottingham Forest are in pursuit of a striker in the summer transfer window. Lewis Grabban is the latest name to be linked with a move to the City Ground, and the experienced striker could prove to be a significant addition.

According to Nottinghamshire Live, Lewis  Grabban is Forest’s primary striking target, and the 30-year-old could prove to be an astute signing for the Reds.  It was apparent to all those affiliated with the club that a lack of goals was a severe issue for Nottingham Fores last season.

A total of 51 goals in 46 league games is unacceptable for a team who are hoping to challenge for promotion. Thus, it isn’t a surprise that Aitor Karanka is keen to add a forward to his squad. Lewis Grabban could be the perfect option for Forest.

The striker is vastly experienced and has enjoyed terrific success at Championship level with the likes of Bournemouth, Sunderland and Aston Villa. Despite representing two teams at opposite ends of the table last season, the 30-year-old succeeded to amass a magnificent total of 20 league goals in 34 games.

A player who can contribute goals on a continuous basis would be of indisputable worth to Nottingham Forest, especially as they’ve failed to replace Britt Assombalonga adequately.

Grabban is regarded for his clinical finishing and his superb ability to retain possession when required. Technically, the Englishman is competent, and he displays impressive passing ability, especially his through balls.

A player of Grabban’s experience and dynamism could reinvigorate Forest’s attack as they look to mount a challenge for promotion to the Premier League. Given his knowledge and experience in the division, the acquisition of Grabban would augment their chances of reaching the top-flight of English football.

What are your thoughts? Would he be a good signing? Let us know!
