0 chances, 0 dribbles, 1 accurate cross – Nottingham Forest duo struggled against Preston

Nottingham Forest played out a goalless draw away to Preston North End on Saturday afternoon, earning a rare clean sheet for the troubles, but they didn’t showcase much threat going forward from the wide positions.

Martin O’Neill opted to fill the midfield and play a narrow style, having the fullbacks provide the width. Jack Robinson and Tendayi Darikwa struggled to make an impact, however, which might leave the Forest manager with a decision to make for their next outing.

Against Preston, Robinson failed to deliver one accurate cross from six attempted, he failed to create a chance over the 90 minutes and he failed to complete a dribble at Deepdale. The left-back made two tackles, one interception and blocked a shot, but he offered very little at the other end of the pitch.

As for Darikwa, the right-back produced one accurate cross from three attempted, he failed to create a chance and he failed to complete a dribble. He made one tackle, one interception, two clearances but failed to block a shot. Given the lack of attacking threat from Forest’s only source of width in the game, it’s not hard to see why they didn’t score against Preston.
